No deposit bonuses
A no deposit bonus gives you credit or spins just for opening an account. It is a cheap way to try a casino, but rarely a way to make money.
What you get
Typically a small amount of bonus money, such as 10, or 10 to 50 free spins. It is credited when you open an account, sometimes only after you confirm your email or phone number, or enter a bonus code.
The usual terms
- Wagering: often higher than on deposit offers, where the regulator allows it.
- Maximum cashout: commonly 50 or 100, whatever you win.
- A deposit before withdrawal: many casinos ask for one to confirm your payment method.
- Identity checks: expect to verify your account before any payout.
- Short expiry: the bonus may last only a few days.
- Maximum bet: one large bet can void the bonus and its winnings.
What you can realistically win
Take a 10 bonus at 40x: 400 of bets on a 96% slot costs 16 on average, more than the bonus itself. Most players use the bonus up before wagering ends. The few who finish usually win a modest sum, held down by the cashout cap. Our wagering guide explains the calculation.
One per person
Casinos allow one no deposit bonus per person, household, device and payment method. A second account opened to claim it again breaks the terms, and any winnings from it are voided.
When one is worth taking
Take a no deposit bonus to try a casino's games, support and identity checks before you trust it with your own money. Read the cashout cap before you play, and treat any win as a pleasant surprise.
